Dorothy Elmhirst's correspondence with artists and performers involved with Dartington Hall, between about 1927 and 1968.
Film Unit
As early as 1934, a cine group of teachers and students at the Dartington Hall School began making short documentary and classroom films. By 1939, they had produced 20 factual films.

Historical resources for the Arts at Dartington include archival material for all branches of the fine and performing arts.
Maurice Browne Papers
This collection consists of three boxes of letters and literary manuscripts donated by Jack and Alice Palmer, and is composed of letters between Maurice Browne and his adopted daughter, Molly Underwood.

Leonard Elmhirst's files relating to Maurice Browne Ltd, a theatrical company of which he, Dorothy Elmhirst, and Fred Gwatkin were directors.
LKE Theatre
Company records of Globe and Queen's Theatres Ltd, which leased and managed adjacent London theatres between 1930 and about 1962.

This small collection of early records of the Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts (CEMA) was donated to The Dartington Hall Trust Archive by Nan Plummer in 2001.
Doreen Senior Folk Music Archive
Doreen Senior served from 1949 as County Music Organiser in Devon. This folk music archive is composed of music and lyric transcriptions, recordings of folk music, letters collected by Doreen Senior.
Paula Morel Papers
Paula Morel (1905-1996) first came to Dartington Hall in 1927 as Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst's housekeeper.
Michael Chekhov Theatre Studio and Deirdre Hurst du Prey Archive
Records collected by Deirdre Hurst du Prey (1906-), before, during and after her seven years as a student and as recorder of the Chekhov Theatre Studio drama school established in 1936 at Dartington Hall.
