3. You must observe High Cross House rules when using the Trust Archive.
4. The Trust Archive holds primary source information about Dartington Hall's history, architecture, and personalities.
The Archive at High Cross House contains collections of works by artists-in-residence through the years. Other Archive collections and topics of possible interest include Michael Chekhov and the Chekhov Theatre Studio, and British art and artists of the 1930s.
There is also significant information about German artists and performers who sought refuge at Dartington to avoid Nazi persecution in the 1930s. The Ballets Jooss, which came here in 1935, was
an internationally regarded modern ballet troupe with an avant garde, Expressionist philosophy.
5. For site specific work, we have research information about many sites on the Dartington Hall estate.
6. Call or e-mail us to make an appointment for a research visit.
